Had a bit of a break at the beginning of May and then it started to get hectic. First off was Tweseldown where Treasure was doing her first Intermediate which was a bit of a disaster to be honest, did a good dressage but deserved a better mark, a few poles showjumping then xc she decided half way round she had enough and napped, reared, backed and spun around, naughty! Tweseldown was on the Monday then on the Sunday it was off to Borde Hill with Kathyrn Burn's Cavaliers Mistress in her first BE90 and went fantastically to do a double clear inside the time but unplaced as dressage is not her fortue! It was a big ask for her as it was big and bold but she rose to the challnege. Now she knows what eventing is all about she is going to carry on her eventing career with her owner, good luck kat! It was then Back to Borde Hill on the Monday with Poor Boy Z and What a Treasure. Poor Boy Z did a lovely 29 dressage test, 1 pole showjumping and annoying stop xc but very pleased with the way he went. What a Treasure did a good dressage and showjumping but was naughty again xc where she decided to nap again but only got penalised on time penalties as we didnt present at the fence when she decided to rear constantly however I managed to get her going again and finished the course on a clear. It was then off to Little Downham Intermediate with What a Treasure on the Friday which was a very early start of getting up at 2.45am but it was worth it! We did a 34.6 dressage test and double clear with 7.6 time faults to finish in 5th place, very proud of her especially with lots of drama before xc with a horse fall delaying xc by at least 30mins and then first combination on course again had a rider fall and then it was me and Treasure, an inexperienced combination at this level, it was very nerve racking! She went brilliantly, so pleased with her. A couple of weeks later What a Treasure went to Stratford Hills NRF, strutted her stuff in the dressage to get a score of 26.8, had 1 pole SJ and then flew around the cross country clear inside the time to finish 2nd and qualified for the Novice championships held at the festival of British Eventing, Gatcombe at the beginning of august. So exciting!
