End of the event season

Well we have reached the end of the event season now. At the last few events of the season Treasure went brilliantly around the Intermediate at little downham, she did what I thought a lovely dressage but the judge didn't agree! She then had a couple of poles showjumping then gave me a fantastic clear XC ride with a few time faults. It was a tough track so was really pleased with her. At Jacqs last event at Pulborough she did a 38 dressage, she is definitely starting to settle in this phase and started off with consistant 7's but did a few flying changes in the first canter which she wasn't supposed to do so that brought her mark down. she then did a lovely confident clear showjumping round. on to xc and she was flying round. I actually had to hold her back! however she needs to listen to her rider as she had a cheeky stop at a skinny on a turn around a tree which she didn't see so it took by surprise but other than that she was brilliant. Winter plan is to give both event horses a month off then they will come back into work and will both have lots of dressage and show jumping training. I will also concentrate on lots of xc style fences and combination with Jacqs especially skinnies to get her listening more. Barney is competing at dressage and has been winning his classes so he will compete a bit more and then go up for sale. We had some brilliant news about Roxy so I can confirm she is in foal and should be due next July! Exciting times!
